The Woodpecker Bird House is a ready made home for the Red-bellied woodpecker, Hairy woodpecker, or the Red-headed. This classic Three-Woodpecker House can be a great shelter and create a perfect roosting spot to the delight of these cavity nesting birds. Every detail of this home is specifically designed for woodpeckers, to create a healthy and lasting home for them. The 2.625" diameter entrance hole that is surrounded by a metal predator guard, to prevent it from being enlarged. The 0.625" thick wooden construction aids in insulating the home, and a rendering of a woodpecker on the front adds a bit of style.

The deep cavity keeps nestlings safe, as predators are not able to reach so far into the box. The overhang of the roof keeps the interior dry, while gaps in each corner of the base allow any excess water to drain from the nest. Two gaps in the top corners help ventilate the home for a healthy atmosphere. The front panel lifts upward for nest checks when needed, and a sturdy wingnut screw keeps the item closed. An additional wooden panel inside the home acts as a barrier to prevent nestlings from falling out when the door is opened. For more versatility, move the panel upward in the winter to close the house. (See 2nd picture Access view) Use the predrilled holes at the top and bottom of the home to easily mount it to a post, wall, or tree.
